DESCRIPTION OF THE DEVICE

Precision apparatus designed to study the compressibility and liquefaction of a gas, here Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6), and allowing to easily reach its critical point in complete safety.
Educational and robust design.

Gas with critical and easily achievable parameters:
• Critical pressure: 37.6 bar
• Critical temperature: 45.5°C

TEST TUBE

element in which the gas to be studied is compressed by the rise of the Mercury
• Made of thick Pyrex
• Volume 4cm3
• Graduated to 1/20 of cm3
• Fixed on a stainless steel chamber
• Resistant to high pressure

THERMOSTATIC JACKET:

element placed around the test tube allowing a circulation of water, intended to vary the temperature conditions.

DIGITAL PRESSURE GAUGE:

The new digital manometer provides a direct reading of the pressure (in bars) exerted in the compression chamber as well as the temperature (in degrees Celsius).
An export of the measurements is also possible (via Bluetooth) for data exploitation via a dedicated software.

    • ADJUSTMENT WHEEL:

    element allowing to actuate the piston (covered with a sealing membrane) which will cause the rise of the mercury.
